This review will not be for those who haven’t tried a gel polish this is for those who have tried and got disappointed, I am sure you know what I mean. I have already tried getting myself gel polishes on several nail salons, some of them lasted a week without chipping while others lasted for just a day! Parang walang difference with ordinary polish!
With the very hot weather we have right now making our days extra stressful, I got excited when Juicy Nails by K2C invited me to try their Gel Polish Manicure & Foot Spa Classic Pedicure last Wednesday, I’ll get to relax. haha!
Juicy Nails by K2C is located at 389 Unit 2B Visayas Ave Tandang Sora, Quezon City and it is near in Tandang Sora Market. It is also in the second level by the way.
I was greeted by these imported nail polishes behind the counter such an eye candy! :))
You can see the services offered and their prices on the side of the counter, also magazines to keep clients entertained.
When I walked in, the first thing I noticed of course was the nail polishes behind the counter haha, I’ve been nail art/polish addict before. :p The place is not as spacious as I expected it to be since it’s a nail/body/wax spa salon but it’s clean, neat, simple and cozy! I also like the combination of colors – pink, purple and turquoise, very relaxing to the eyes!
They have two beds available for their massage, facial, bleaching and waxing services. I just find it a little awkward since the beds are only separated by curtains, I assume you can hear all the chikahan that is happening on the other side. I think if you want to go for a massage might as well bring a friend with you, it would be a nice bonding eh?

It’s a really good idea bringing a friend or your family here. You can avail certain services for much lower price plus sessions are TRANSFERABLE and can be SHARED!
I got there at 11:30 am and was welcomed by Ms. Kathy, one of the co-owners and the spa’s supervisor, Ms. Leslie. Both ladies and the staffs are courteous and friendly. Since I came early, I was their first client hehe, I chose to sit on the individual purple reclining chair because I wanted to have my own space, I feel awkward sitting on the long couch and rubbing elbows, literally, with someone I don’t know, hope you get what I am saying. :p
My hands and feet were soaked in a wooden tub and basin with lukewarm water. I like how Ate Helen – nail technician, always asks if the temperature is ok for me.
I had the Sole Mate Foot Spa with Pedicure and what can I say? Ahhh very relaxing, my calluses and dry skin were removed and I also had a nice massage however I wished it lasted longer than few minutes, kinda bitin!
I chose this Magnetic Lacquer in Blue. A magnet is placed over the polish then pulls parts of the polish and creates half moon shape. If you look closely, somehow you’ll see. I bet this looks better when used on long fingernails!
When Ate Helen started doing my nails on my hand, I haven’t got the chance to take pictures. She gently cleaned and shaped them, then applied the base coat, gel bonder then my desired color- Cuccio Romania After Dark. For faster drying, my hands were put inside the UV Lamp which automatically turns off after a few seconds. She also placed a towel above the lamp so I won’t be bothered by the UV Lamp’s temperature. She applied several coats again to make sure all are coated evenly.
The polish application is very neat, though it took 2 and a half hours (for the footspa/pedicure/gel manicure) it was all worth it, sitting comfortably while getting my nails perfected by Ate Helen, yes she’s quite a perfectionist! I now have a gorgeous color on me that they say does not chip easily, well, we’ll see about that!
And oh, my ever supportive fiance also took the chance to relax! The Juicy Nails by K2C also offers services for Men and guess who else? Your little princesses as well!
He tried their hand spa with manicure and classic pedicure. I do not need to ask him if he enjoyed because I saw him falling asleep while being massaged haha, but he also told me that he expected the massage to be a little longer, to be at least more than five minutes!
You can avail great discounts as they have ongoing promos for different services!

I wished that the place was more spacious, it’ll be crowded already having four to six clients having foot spa, while only two can use the beds at the same time. And I am sure that it would not be as relaxing as what we hoped a spa salon should be. But never the less, I must say I am very much satisfied with their service. Ate Helen didn’t rush the service unlike what I usually experience with other salons. Magaan din ang kamay nya, I also like the fact that my nails are properly shaped, one time I experienced having a mani/pedi in a salon inside the mall, the one attending to me was like in a hurry because there’s a long line of clients waiting to be served. It just took her 15 minutes to finish my fingernails and toenails! My nails were badly shaped and the polished was not applied properly.
The staffs here are very accomodating, clients were also served with their choice of Iced/Hot Tea. I also asked Ate Helen few questions regarding the products that she’s applying to me, she seemed well-trained and knowledgeable on what she’s doing. I also asked how often they clean their tools and she told me that they sanitized them every after use.:D I also had a hard time choosing which polish to get because they offer wide selections of imported lacquers!
If you are planning to visit Juicy Nails by K2C, I suggest you book an appointment beforehand so they can schedule your prefered time, isn’t it convenient to go there and be served right away? It is also better to go on weekdays since they are usually full packed during weekends. You may also notice that the rates of their services are much cheaper than the others, plus they have lots of ongoing promos so make sure to check them outhere. If you want to know more about their services, do not hesitate to cantact Ms. Leslie, the spa supervisor, she’s very accomodating as well! I would definitely be back but I think I would like to try their massages!

It’s been more than a week and it’s time to update this post!
As you have read above, I got the chance to try Juicy Nails by K2C’s Gel polish! And this is what it looks like on the 3rd day.
My nails are still chip-free and still looking gorgeous!
I prepare our meals at home everyday, when I say prepare I wash/cut/cook. I prepare two to three meals a day. Plus I wash the dishes and all the kitchen tools I used for cooking. I also clean our house and wash our pet’s towels everyday. In short, my hands are loaded with work and they are wet, most of the time.
It has been 8 days since I got my gel nails done and I can see chipping on my right fingernails.

This isn’t my first time to try gel nails. I find chipping on the 3rd day with the others that I’ve tried before. And because of all the chores I do at home, I am really not expecting much this time. Regular polish – even the imported ones last only for a day or two on me. I actually got surprised that this gel nails lasted for more than a week given that my hands do so much work everyday. I think if I get 2 weeks off from cooking and washing dishes, which will never happen haha! I think my nails will still look good but unfortunately I can’t control the growth of my nails so still they needed to be changed!
This is perfect for those who’ll go for out of town trips, you want your nails to look good on pictures of course! Or those who’ll go to beach! I bet this gel nails will last 3-4 days even if you’re babad sa pool or beach! I believe now that the way salons apply gel polish has a big factor on the staying power of gel polish! And I think Ate Helen did a great job on my nails!
