I went to Ever Bilena's kiosk to swatch lipsticks as I've been wanting to try their matte lippies for ages! As I was deciding what shades to get, I saw this cute black container with long silver cap. Then the sales assistant told me it's one of their best sellers, I wasn't really planning to buy eyeliners kasi ang dami ko pa sa bahay, but nabudolbudol ako, I found myself in the cashier paying for the eyeliner, kidding :p the sales lady was so convincing that I just couldn't say no.

Ever Bilena's Dip Liner was my first local eyeliner, the real reason why I was convinced to try this 7ml liner was it only costs P160.00. :D

TRIPLE GLOW JELLY MOISTURIZER | MICSEMOTIONS

I have been using this one for more than a moth now so I am very ready to share my thoughts with my current face moisturizer!

I just have to make this warning before I start my post. If you are a guy, you may not understand, however, if the one who’s reading this is a girl, surely you’ll be able to relate. :D

I have five reasons why I hate my “that-time-of-the-month”. First, I feel fat. Second, I crave and eat lots of chocolates, two bars a day is NOT enough which brings me back to my first reason. Third, who does not hate dysmenorrhea? Fourth, I get extreme back pain. And lastly, hello breakouts!

I was kinda feeling a little depressed last June because of my bad breakout. I got lots of pimples on my cheek down to my jaw line and they stayed there for a week then left me a nightmare – acne marks.

I am used to having breakouts every month as they dry and disappear after a week. But not on the month of June. They started to dry on the 2nd week however, the marks were still there. Which is very unusual as my breakout don’t leave marks. I am also afraid to try a new product as they might worsen the condition. But at the same time I can’t just stare at my pimple marks and wait for them to disappear, it’s been 3 weeks already :’(. So I decided to look for something that I could use for my dilemma.

L.A. GIRL PRO CONCEAL TOAST & WARM HONEY | MICSREVIEWS

I know I have been missing in action these past few weeks, but no worries as I’ll be posting again my reviews every other day so make sure to visit my blog regularly!

I am sure you already heard about L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer. I think it has 24 shades (I am not sure!), but I know it is easy for one to find her shade as you have lots of shades to choose from. Some says it is a dupe for Mac Pro Long Wear, I can’t answer that because I don’t have one (Mac Pro Long Wear). :P

I’ve been looking for a cream or liquid contour that I can use and preferably, something that’s affordable. So when I saw an L.A. Girl counter at the mall I was so excited to try them (pro conceal). Unfortunately they have limited shades available, they only have 2 shades that time – creamy beige and classic ivory. The lady at the counter recommendedPure Beige to me if I am looking for something to use for contouring however it was out of stock at that moment.  After two weeks, stocks arrived but to my disappointment, it was too yellow-ish on my skin. Since I can’t wait anymore for the others stocks to arrive, I ordered online. Haha!!

I really do not know what shade to get, I wanted something waaaay darker than my skin tone and another one which is just two shades darker than my skin. And I ended up havingToast and Warm Honey.

 

NO SWEAT | MICSREVIEWS

I get sweaty hands and armpits all the time and it’s a normal thing to me since
duhh?! I am living in a tropical country. But I don’t feel normal when others stare at me, particularly on my underarms stains. I usually get those awkward moments when I am riding public vehicles. And I am not the only one, it is a common thing for me to see others with their pit stains as well. :D

I have tried several antiperspirants already but none of them was able to give me a no-sweat-kinda-day. Not until last month, I have found literally, No Sweat Antiperspirant Deodorant. :D

GLOW PRO BLUSH PALETTE | MATTE COLLECTION | MICSREVIEWS

How do you decide what blush to wear? Well me, choosing the shade of my blush depends on the clothes that I will be wearing, I also have to consider my eye makeup and my lip color as well.

I am unpredictable when it comes to what blush I’ll be using. There are times that I would just want to have that natural pinkish glow on my cheeks then the next morning I want to go for warmer shades like peach and coral. HAHA!

City Color Glow Pro Blush Palette

I scored this Glow Pro Blush Palette from Makeupholics, orginal price was Php650 but I got it on sale – P325. :D When I saw it I knew I have to get myself one. Aside from it’s on sale, I really want to try CityColor Cosmetics because they are sooooo affordable and the products look promising too.

Glow Pro Blush Palette comes in two Collections, Shimmer and Matte. Obviously I have the Matte Collection. It comes in a card-board, travel-friendly packaging with magnetic closure which I really like, opening and closing of palette is effortless. I am just not sure if it is sturdy enough to bring with me everyday, it looks like that it can be easily deformed inside my bag. Well, I usually bring my cabinet  a lot of things with me. :p

It has six shades in the palette, from pink to peach to cocoa. This palette will work on every skintone as you have six shades to choose from. It smells like the usual baby powder and I can say that the shades are all lovely. I’m surprised how pigmented they are! So I suggest to apply it with a light hand, it is blendable also and you would only need little amount! I’ve been using this for two months already and it still looks new. Ang daming product sa bawat pan.

I wish that the shades have names in the palette so it would be easier for me to say my favorite but the truth is I like them all! Anyway, I love the pink shades as they give me natural-looking cool pink. Lakas maka pabebe. :D The second row gives neutral colors to the cheek. While I use the two shades on the 3rd row to set my contour.

Glow Pro Blush Palette has great staying power. It lasts all day, mine stayad up to 8 hours! It does not have powdery fall out as well. Oh before I forget, I was surprised to know that it’s made in PRC but Disrtributed by Beauty Plus Global in Canada. I really thought it was made in Canada.

Instead of a mirror, an application guide can be found on the other side of the packaging. I think it’s really helpful especially for beginners. It illutrates how to apply blush on different face shapes.

I can imagine myself traveling and including this on my luggage. It has shades that can be use from day to night time look. What’s more exciting is that I can mix and match colors, I like applying the pink shades on the apple of my cheeks then I blend the neutral tones on my cheekbones. I did not have any breakouts and allergies with this palette either.

If you want to get yourself a blush but not sure what shade to get, why not get this palette? Very pigmented, not chalky, long lasting and swak sa budget. I am actually thinking of getting their Shimmer Collection as I was impressed with this! :)

SIMPLE WAYS TO ORGANIZE YOUR MAKEUP

Relax guys, every product is different from the others.  So let me start this review so I won’t waste any of your time! :)

NO STIFF BODY MASSAGE LOTION | MICSREVIEWS

It might not be obvious, but I workout. Let me rephrase that, I try to workout, haha! Well I try to do Zumba once a week and if I have extra energy I spend fifteen minutes on treadmill. That’s already a workout for me, at least I am doing something to burn my daily dose of chocolates, sweets and carbs (defensive mode: on). :p

Well I am not being overly defensive here but the reason why I can’t do more ‘workouts’ is that I always have back pain. Well, surprise, I have Scoliosis! For those who are not familiar with Scoliosis, it is an abnormal, sideways curvature of the spine. So back and neck pains are not new to me. Especially when I do strenuous activities.

I am a person who does not take meds right away.  As much as possible I don’t take painkillers as they might damage my kidney :p. Kaya inaantay ko nalang mawala ng kusa. But sometimes it’s hard for me to sleep at night when I am in pain. What I do, which is also the safest I think, is to apply body massage ointments.

Hi there beautiful people of the world! I am excited to share my thoughts on this new foundation which I am currently loving. Since I am acidic and has oily skin, it is not easy to find a makeup base that can give the needs of my skin. And recently I discovered a foundation which claims to give an excellent coverage and at the same time 100% chemical free, told you this one is exciting!

Out of all the products that Nature Essentials sent me, this one really got my attention. Of course, it’s makeup, who does not want makeup (“insert a little girl dancing here*)?!And this is my first time ever to try an organic makeup. So I swatched it right away on my hand!

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

*The absolute foundation with treatment and sunscreen. This lightweight foundation leaves a natural looking but excellent coverage on skin.

APPLICATION:

*Apply daily. For best protection, apply 30 mins. prior to sun exposure.

INGREDIENTS:

*Deoxyarbutin, Argan Oil, Rosehip Oil, CoQ10, Zinc Oxide, Sea Buckthorn Oil, Carrot Seed Oil, Shea Butter, Aloe Vera, Licorice Root Extract and Sunflower Oil

#MICSTHOUGHTS:

I applied a very thin layer and as you can see, it lightened my skin but did not fully cover my birthmark on my hand. When I first tried this one on my face, my first impression was, it looked too light on me. By the way Nature Essentials HD Firming Foundationcomes in one shade only.  I was already looking for a powder that is one shade darker than my skin tone to set this foundation. But after few minutes, just like magic, it matches my skin color. Then I realized I just have to wait for the foundation to set into my skin. Apparently, this one suits all skin tones.

So what can I say with this HD Firming foundation? Let me start with its packaging. This 30ml foundation comes in a transparent plastic bottle with pump which is more hygienic. However the amount of product it dispenses on one pump is too much for me. Because this one is matipid gamitin, you would only need small amount to cover your entire face. I also find the packaging bulky, it might consume a lot of space on my makeup kit.

Nature Essentials HD Firming foundation is fragrance-free and so creamy and thick but does not feel heavy on skin and it is so so so easy to blend – have tried blending it with brush, sponge and fingers! I think this one has satin finish, not matte and not dewey but somehow closer to dewey. I have oily skin yet it does not make my face look greasy. It can lessen the redness of pimples and also the darkness of my under eye area but it does not cover them fully. This one gives light to medium coverage and can be built up without feeling heavy or cakey. One more thing I noticed with this one, I can easily blend my concealer (liquid/cream) with this foundation as my base. Yes, I need to add a little bit of concealer to fully hide my pimple marks and dark circles. If you are blessed with blemish-free face, then you would only need this, nothing more, nothing less.

I really see this foundation more of a tinted moisturizer, it contains ingredients for anti-aging and skin rejuvenation. Examples are Rosehip and Argan oil which are known to be great moisturizers and can reduce fine lines and wrinkles. That’s the reason why I am not afraid to use this everyday, it is mild (I did not experience breakouts with this one) and it’s like I have my foundation and treatment already in one bottle. It also has SPF 100 UVA/UVB meaning I can skip my sunblock whenever I use this. Just make sure to apply it 30 minutes before going out.

For longevity, it stayed on me for about 5-6 hours without fading. But you know me, by that time, I am a walking grease ball! After blotting oil control film, the foundation still looked good on me, there’s no need to retouch with powder. It started fading on the 7th-8thhour and I think that’s not bad for someone who has oily skin like me! I would not say that this HD Firming Foundation has an excellent coverage but rather it gives me a naturally-airbrushed finish. I can’t explain it waaaa!! Even though it just makes my blemishes like 80% less visible, still I like to use this because its finish makes my skin look lovely and glowing. Plus it is so lightweight and breathable, feels like I am wearing nothing, even if I sweat, it is not malagkit. It makes me look like I have a naturally healthy skin. It does not clog pores also. This foundation is moisturizing and has a very soothing feel on the skin and most of all it makes my skin look radiant without looking oily! Yey! :)

POWER DOSE HAIR REPAIR | MICSREVIEWS

Have you seen my DIY HOT OIL TREATMENT FOR P21? My friends thought I was joking. They can’t believe I only spent P21.00 for a hot oil treatment. super mura no? But let me share you also what I have been using for the past month. If you like my DIY Hot Oil Treatment but do not have the time to do it? Well, wait ‘til you read this!

Ideally, one should go to salon for hair treatment at least once every two months. I admire those who manage to do that, because I don’t and I can’t. HAHA! :P First, I do not have the time and budget for that. A basic hair treatment costs at least P500 and I can’t spend that much regularly for my hair. But I feel guilty because I know I have done so much damage to my hair. :(

So that’s the condition of my hair after taking a bath. Normally, you won’t see me like this because it’s either I tie or blowdry my hair so it won’t look this bad. My hair’s condition got worse because of DIY dyeing, use of heating tools and neglecting its needs. If you have damaged hair just like mine don’t worry because recently, I found the solution to this dilemma! :D Want to know how did my hair transformed into this?!

Well. this bottle is the reason.

As stated in the instructions, (which can be read on this blue with yellow cap bottle by the way) I apply this after shampooing, I simply substitute this with whatever conditioner I am using. This is thicker compared to your usual conditioner, so you need to do some tak-tak-tak to get the product out of the bottle. :p  Just make sure to apply it evenly on your hair.  Then I let it stay on my hair for at least 5 minutes.

Right after rinsing, I can feel that my hair is super soft and shiny, other than that, I do not see any major changes on my hair. Not until my 3rd time of using and oh, I use this twice a week. When I had my 3rd and 4th time of using this, geeessssh my hair became manageable, I mean, I am used on being a round face with a head full of tangled hair, but not anymore! :P I can easily comb my hair which I can’t normally do because my hair is full of tangles and knots all the time. But those days are finally gone. I feel that I am a step closer on bringing back my healthy hair, I know it would require more time, but seeing these improvements means I’m getting there!

What I like more with this Hair Supplement is that it does not make my hair straight as a ruler even though I know most girls want that. Yes it makes my hair soft and shiny, and it lessens the waves of my hair, but still my hair has volume which I totally like. I do not want my hair to be flat, like super straight because I feel my face looks rounder with that haha, So I am glad I still get that bouncy hair. Or simply because Power Dose Hair Repairis not for straightening hair but for instant repair treatment for damaged hair.  This is a great alternative if you don’t want to go to salon, I mean you get the same results for a very affordable price, this 250g is for P180 only! It’s like I am giving my hair what it needs to become strong and healthy again. And it makes my hair smell good through out the day.
